I have wanted to see this movie for a while but was a little hesitant because I am not a teen anymore and I felt like it was geared strongly towards teens. I really like Emma Watson so I decided to get over it and see the movie. The acting in this movie is done really well, everyone does a fantastic job in their roles. With that being said this movie is a lot heavier than I anticipated. I guess I expected to see your typical teen problems: I am dating the popular boy and he is mean, I got a D on my math test my parents will “kill” me. I am not at all belittling the problems I just listed because they are very real issues that anyone would have but in this movie those aren’t the problems.
The Perks of being a Wallflower is deep, there are issues like abuse, drugs, cutting, suicide, serious emotional situations that adults deal with and don’t deal with if you are fortunate enough. In closing this movie is not your everyday watch but a good watch and I am glad I saw it.
Have you seen this movie? If not what is your favorite non-Harry Potter Emma Watson movie?
Love you guys, and thanks for reading!
