Wisdom Wednesday: Let Yourself Be Flawed
I like myself the most when I am relaxed and doing things because I like them and want to do them, for the most part. I don't think I will ever say I want to do the dishes or the laundry but I do desire a clean house so I guess it fits. I hate the idea of harsh expectations, and have-to living. I think one of the most admirable things is to truly from within yourself desire to do life in a positive and productive form. I desire to be kind, work on this project, blog and the like.
What does any of that have to do with understanding you are flawed. The only time you can actually relax and be your best is when you come to grips with the fact that you are not perfect. A lot of the time when you desire to present a perfection you can elevate yourself and devalue others based on performance. In case you thought that was fine, what happens when the other person is doing better than you? Often times that results in depression, a lack of self love, and jealousy, which shows itself in various forms.
It is really important to realize that trying your hardest and attempting to hit the mark in everything you do is wonderful but expecting perfection from yourself and others is a slow and painful death.
So, this week the thought is, we all have flaws and it's okay.
