Planning for 2016

Writing goals is serious business, they have to be reachable but optimistic enough to be motivating. 2015 was a really good year for me it had some lows but more highs than lows. Or maybe the highs came closer to the end so I don't remember the lows as much.

My pastor calls it a vision. Goals are visions like the Bible says, write the vision and make it plain that he may run who reads it.

This year I pretty much want to continue in what I already have going like blogging, marketing (day job), building my jewelry business, getting rid of student debt and building my savings and investments. I also want to continue in good health with more hiking in the summer and possibly rock climbing.  I  want to continue bringing new people into my world who are confident and kind.

I was told by someone who has a really good spirit and vibe that I would make a good mentor. I definitely see counseling in my future, I do have a pastoral degree so I need to figure out a way to use it. This year I was asked to be a mentor in a program for inner city women, maybe there is more of that somewhere... only time will tell for now.

It can be discouraging to have the same goals year after year and still not be exactly where you want to be. This year I helped myself prepare for disappointment in the mist of moving in the right direction by writing details to every goal.

Instead of writing "blog more" as a goal or a vision. I wrote down 60 blog posts I will write this year, including the type of outfits I would like to wear in some of  them. This way I know what to do with extra money and time. I started along this path in 2015 and it has been very helpful as I can get anxious when I am not getting what I want.

I will continue this process in every area of my life. I wish you the best in 2016 and I hope this post helps.
